Beyond
the lure of the stars
Dome applications have diversified over the years. They are no
longer limited to being the tools of stargazers and design exercises
in architecture classes. The dome now does duty teaching, training,
entertaining and enlightening.
Learning
in Real-time
Experience
is the best teacher in the world. But some things are almost impossible
to experience. Like electrical failure in a 747 cruising at 30,000
feet.
Almost.
Since 1970, both military and civilian pilots have learned to
deal with situations like this and the more mundane aspects
of their profession inside Astro-Tec flight simulators.
For more than 30 years, our simulators have been the tool of choice
for clients such as the U.S. Military and McDonnell Douglas.
By using our flight simulation screens in conjunction with various
types of projection systems, military and civilian pilots alike
are given the kind of hands-on experience that cannot be duplicated
anywhere else.

The
Immersive Experience
When
youre showing a large format film or immersive feature,
you want a screen that will give your audience the complete experience
intended by the filmmakers. Only the best will do when youre
exhibiting a medium with ten times the image size of a traditional
35mm movie screen.
Astro-Tec creates aluminum screens using a process virtually identical
to that used in fabricating our planetarium domes. The surfaces
are also similar, with a seamless finish providing ideal image
quality for your movie/video projection system. Utilizing state-of-the-art
CAD engineering equipment allows us to create any size screen
custom built to meet your specific needs.
